Recently, Denney was commissioned
for a dog pet portrait. When the
finished product was delivered to
the MACDAVID & CO. Gallery, viewers
were stunned. The most asked
question, "is it a painting or is it
a photograph?" The finished product
was so life-like that you could
actually see the moisture on the
dog's nose! The painting we are
referring to is the Scottish Terrier
in the center of pet portrait
collage on the main page.
(Anthony: it would be good to
actually put a picture of the dog
here)]
About
the pricing:
A
typical painting is executed in
watercolors and other mediums. The
price is determined by only a few
factors. 1. The number of pets in
the painting (2) If it is to be a
full body painting or head
only (3) If there is to be a
background included in the painting
(4) The overall size of the
painting.
Most
typically, Denney likes to take the
photographs of the pet when
possible. He is also able to work
with high quality digital
photographs. As a general guidline,
a completed pet portrait, head only,
and no background, measuring
approximately 20 X 24 is around six
hundred dollars, unframed.
